so like I've mentioned, I visited Bangkok twice in a month.
Not because I'm feeling rich, it was because I HAD TO.
And yes, this trip actually came first, but I was too busy to actually blog about it first.
So actually tbh I don't really happened where did we go on which day and whatsoever
5 quality days, who cares about the sequence anyway.
AHAHAHAH
Before I start on reflecting, disclaimer first.
I'm someone with low expectations of everything besides the accommodation.
I don't live for food, as such, most of the times I find food tasty while others usually find it alright.
I just don't know how to appreciate the goodness in food unlike the rest so..take my reviews with a pinch of salt, especially food :)
So yeap this was our graduation trip and these girls were with me since we were 13.
Time flies and yes we're still together. We definitely didn't see this coming when we were in school back then. The only legit 'vacation' we've been on together was a Geography trip to Kuantan HAHAHA.
Prior to this trip, when my friends know that I'll be going bkk with two other girls, the things they told me about regards to safety issues like getting robbed and pickpocket and stuff like that, I would be lying if I said I wasn't scared at all.
To be honest, I was in fact terrified and was prepared. Prepared to get robbed.
Yes, that was really bad and negative and the plans to keep my money separated to the extent where I actually forgot where else did I keep my money. HAHAHAHAH quite bad.
Our flight was early in the morning and thanks momsie who picked the girls and up and drove us to the airport early in the morning like around 6 plus.
And yes the three of us left Singapore by ourselves, not even expecting our friends to send us off. HAHAHAHA
The first problem we reached there was actually the communication between the taxi driver and us. We tried all ways to show him our hotel name, but in the end we resorted to calling the hotel's front office and asked the staff to actually tell the driver where is the hotel in thai. And yes, this method is highly effective and efficient if you got the travel sim card while traveling in Thailand! Most of the drivers they do not really understand English. #travelingtipsforyou
To play very safe, we were on Google Maps navigation as well. Just in case. #sosingaporean
Our hotel was Hotel Mercure Bangkok Siam , a pretty good hotel in fact. Would rate it 4.9/5 cause the sofa bed was actually good enough to pull off as a legit bed (for me).

The location was good, with National Stadium BTS(trains in Bangkok) right in front.
And MBK right in front..MBK is a good shopping place actually with lots and lots of food choices and good food in their food court (thumbs up!)
To be honest, the only lacking about the hotel was only because the hotel rooms are located on the higher levels, and guests are required to take the first lift to only the hotel front desk, and then take another lift to the rooms. Like, I was worn out every night we return from the excessive walking right? XD
As it was a Saturday, that means........................ JATUJAK / CHATUCHAK DAY!
IT WAS BURNING HOT.
Despite knowing before hand that Thailand is always a few degrees above Singapore, but I was so not prepared for the heat. I was literally blown off by the weather that was like on pms. Within an hour of walking around the streets of Chatuchak trying to search for the recommended stalls, I swear the three of us were drenched in sweat. We won't even perspire like this back in Singapore holyy . Then before you realized it, it was pouring like mad.
Chanced upon this milk tea stall that seemed to have the shortest queue but shortly after a group of thai youths came and yup seems like they didn't know how to order all in a go. Everyone of them actually ordered one by one and there I was dying of thirst and drying up //

And it doesn't taste bad. Just alright!
After a whole day perspiring and after that it was pouring, we were worn out by just one Chatuchak market and we had to go back to our hotel for a break before we break down. We were supposed to go to some night market after that, but nah, we were close to dying AHAHHA.
So we went back to our hotel and put down the loots and headed to MBK to venture a little and continue some small little shopping.
And the food in the food court was really good. Authentic.
Day 2
was simply a second episode to more shopping.
While being lost in the train station, its okay to take lots of photos in an empty train station. Directions can wait. HAHAHA. I believe we were searching for Union Mall (which stays as my fav mall after that)
Had my first A&W in my life for breakfast, although I couldn't really taste the difference between this and the other fast food burgers, and I supposed they should taste nicer than the rest...so I guess its good. But I really liked their root beer float? A&W float? I don't know, I don't live for food HAHA.

The reason why Union Mall was my fav...
If you're my close friend you would have known that I'm not someone who enjoys shopping. I find it rather annoying when I meet someone indecisive or rather I can't decide if I should buy something.
But, Union Mall has successfully made me happy from the moment I stepped into the mall and yeap, my happiness continued.
THEY WERE PLAYING KPOP SONGS THROUGHOUT THE MALL.
FUUUUUU THATS LIKE A DREAM COME TRUE.
Countless times I stepped into a shop and I left because the songs they were blasting were too annoying for me. Junsuuuuuuu #fangirlmoments but putting that aside, they do have a lot of stores selling good deals for shoes and everything male and females.
And I finally got to eat what I've always wanted, although our choices for the ice cream were kinda bad and was kinda disappointed with how it tasted.
this totally captured my heart.
Ice cream mochi with assorted flavors. Really good!
Melon? Mocha. Thai milk tea and...lemon? Mango? I forgot. |
Later at night, we went to Asiatique.
Had our first official authentic thai food at one of the restaurants there.
It was rather good, and had so much fun with the girls thanks to............

I swear I wasn't smiling so brightly shortly after the wheel started to move.
They say relationship will last forever if you kiss when the cabin reaches the peak of the wheel. #whenexpectationmeetsreality |
Day 3
Honey Toast...? |

Such wake up face |
Just that it was rather pricey, even more expensive than some waffles offered in Singapore's cafes.
Worth trying though.
After which we went to shop at the Pratunam market as well as Platinum Mall.
The Pratunam market of course do sell lots of goods at super low prices, but most requires bulk purchase like 3 and above for a slightly cheaper price.
I don't have a proper photo of it cause the conditions there...wasn't really appropriate for me to holding onto my camera and taking a photo cause the walkways are so narrow, crowded with people and it was so squeezy.
It was kinda packed and for someone who is claustrophobic, it resulted in a short black out moment when I step foot into the Platinum mall, which was less crowded and more comfortable.
I swear I was walking towards the sides and if things were worse, I would have just slammed into the floor.
Bangkok was actually flooding with tourists and its not hard to bump into someone you know.
Fellow singaporeans and their behaviors, kinda obvious.
But we bumped into our secondary school chinese teacher :D
thennnnnnnnnnnnn retarded moments back in the room.
Introducing my retarded partner since 2008.
Day 4
Slow down those shopping......and time for some sight seeing.
So we went to this Terminal 21.
Designed according to the airport theme, which wasn't that bad. But no feels for me cause the shops in there was way too pricey. Just purely sight-seeing.
after which we traveled quite a bit and walked a lot under the hot sun looking for this boat noodles which apparently is something that I can't touch.

It tasted rather good, but just a little too spicy for me to cope with it. So i ended up having one small little bowl of it with lots of difficulties. But after which, i met my love.
My fav thai snack since young!
Its taste rubberish but its bean paste inside and i just can't find words to describe it.
I'm always hooked to this and its highly addictive.
Not to even mention how cute it actually loooks!?!?!
Highly recommended!
and fast enough it was the last day in Thailand so...they decided to end it with a dip into the roof pool on level 29!

quite a pretty pool! |
And the day before we departed for Singapore, we went for a shoulder massage which left quite some memory in us cause of Jiaen.
It was really good with these two cause miraculously, our ideas and preferences doesn't really contradict and it was rather peaceful. Maybe it was because 8 years together, we don't fight anymore. We accept every flaws and it was really memorable and I really loved this trip. Often, some memories would just appear in my mind when I'm back in Singapore and I really missed being with them in bangkok. Waking up looking like a bird nest is alright, watching tv till late night is alright and doing all sorts of weird stuff is alright too. We'll still watch out for each other and be really retarded together.
Wouldn't say no to another trip with them even if its bangkok again, given my wallet says yes to it.
Love them to the galaxy and back!
