And so weeks ago or maybe like last 2 months they launched this competition known as Accor Takeoff Challenge, opened for students to take part!
Guess what- this will be the first and the ever last time I trust in Accor.
Other than disappointment and more disappointment, nothing can ever describe how I'm feeling right now.

So from months back, Cole, Lynn and I started to devote most of our time trying to come out with a very good idea.
and now I find it totally stupid of us to give up so much of holidays just for this damn competition.
Days and days we spent our nights in school, even when the lights went out.
Making trips down to the different hotels to make sure that our application is useful for them...
its all memorable.
And of course, we met great and nice people.
We heard the feedbacks from the interns who are our coursemates, and had the chance to tour around Novotel.
We managed to arrange a visit to Grand Mercure and also iBis Bencoolen.. and the managers there are really nice and helpful to us.
The fact that we did not manage to get through the first one, 我们真的是很对不起他们.
So basically, the whole competition is about brainstorming about ideas to help the hotel...
for this year's theme is about some..Digital Innovation in Hospitality.
and so we came out with an idea..like this.
For Round 1, as stated in their website:
Yes, 50 teams, then 15 teams.
And hence, I guess people who followed me on instagram, twitter or facebook.
You would have seen the effort in trying to get more votes.
Gratefully, we managed to clinched the top spot for online votes!
However, after the results are released, we realized the votes are nothing. Even clinching the top spot in the voting system DOES NOT ensure you of anything of any kind.
You may just get shortlisted with like less than a hundred votes when the top did their best to clinch 1688 votes. Too much of a coincidence, but the school comes from the hosting country itself. Well - a little too obvious here?
Then we thought, maybe our ideas wasn't that strong. But the next thing we saw - there's another group that got shortlisted has that like 98% similarity to our ideas. Basically the features were all the same. So what does that explains? I really don't know how do I even persuade myself to believe that our hard work just went down the drain like this.
You may say that we are just 输不起 like being Singaporeans we are brought up in this kind of environment where by, we don't just die without knowing the reason. We are competitive, but you can't just bring our efforts without giving us satisfactory explanations pertaining to all the bias points in the process.
Groups that disobeyed the guideline that were clearly stated, they got shortlisted.
Groups that has really crazy ideas that doesn't seem a little feasible at all, they got shortlisted.
Whereas, the us who guai guai followed to all rules, and they said they were going to look at the feasibility and so we went the nothing-can-go-wrong idea and we got kicked out without even having a chance for Round 2.
What can I say.
Just trying to fight for our rights, and that we really felt super unfair about the doings in the selection process, all we got back from the organisation team were nothing but just a pack of lies and excuses. We are young adults who have been through enough in life to know if things weren't supposed to end like that.
You don't just shut us off giving us things like this.
I would say I was really disappointed and kinda shocked to be experiencing the darkness in the society that adults always mention. I always thought that things won't get that bad, but now things like this happens to us that we get discriminated at because we are far away in Asia...it's really bad.
I thought, we are somehow going to be guest someday, yes maybe our work do not hit your expectation but at least respect us. All our hard work for months got turned down by you in a second, and yet we don't get an answer which at least sounded more professional or polite- instead of making us feel like it was our fault. We were just fighting for own rights that we think we shouldn't be treated like this. But oh well, since you're the organizer then fine, I'll just let it go. I don't really 稀罕 this anymore, I'm no longer interested.
All in all, I'm never trusting Accor ever again.
