By the mangrove - KUKUP

Back from the short little getaway that was actually kinda last minute, but I wasn't the one who planned it.

Went back to the little island in Johore Bahru cause if I'm not wrong my grandma loves it there.
So for her birthday we actually went back. Oh well, it's a good getaway from the reality in Singapore.
Just hang around, appreciate nature and oh their night sky is just beautify with the stars and fireworks you don't see in Singapore.

And so we started off with the usuals, apparently a better bus as compared to previous one.
It was actually quite a short journey. For a long journey lovers like me...it's not long enough to enjoy everything.

and finally we're here! This is somehow like the town area on the island.
There's quite a lot of different types of stores in there, it's like really a small little village.

the more not-developed houses

If you're thinking if we stayed in this kind of houses, then you're wrong!
It's actually an island where the poor and the rich exist side by side.
You can have a very worn out house beside a very nicely built bungalow-like structure

Of course, they're well known for their seafood and yeah, it's nice.
I'm not someone who can take spicy food well, but it actually tastes that good that I don't mind the spiciness.
You just can't hold back when you see this, right? Especially when you know it's pricey in SG and most probably its going to cost a bomb for the same standard of Crabs.

To get to the resort, you'll have to take the...boat.
 It's fast too!
My family!
And this is the house we stayed in! As compared to the previous one, this is very different and it's a simpler..accommodation style(?)
海上冷气度假屋

An individual room for karaoke 24/7 heeheeee

another room for mahjong
and the must-do in Msia, to ignite fireworks into the night sky and the Wish Lantern.
Previously we had to travel out to the town area to buy the fireworks, but this time the owners were kinda good and smart in a way to buy and then sell it to us again. HAHAHA. It's convenient.

As compared to mosquitoes, there were MORE flies. And I found out this method that the people uses to kill the flies....it's kinda cruel to see the flies flying down and then they get stuck in there and you see them struggling and then slowly they die with their flies-mate..

In the afternoon we decided to walk around the village and it's a super long walk out when you don't have bike and you're not taking the boat.

晒虾米咯

and yes, it's damn dangerous to be walking around.
If you're not watching your steps, for you all you  know you might end up on the mud the next moment.
It's actually very narrow walkway shared by people, bicycles, push carts and mostly moterbikes.

Time for sunset!

While the uncle and cousins fish!

While we were having dinner, this poor little eew got caught on the hook.
Seems painful though and we freed it after that!
Totally not the kind who will eat what I've caught.....for now.

When darkness sets in, its when the fun starts kicking in.
Started off with fireworks!

well not sure if the video plays but oh well.
And the main purpose for this trip was to celebrate birthdays!
Mainly Grandmother's and cousin's!

and and this 2d1n trip came to an end... as usual, bingo to kill time!
It's really exciting when there's money involved. Even grandma enjoys it!

Like they've said, Magnum is a must-eat there not because its their specialty but it's dirt cheap.
I had 3 in 2 days! It's like RM 3.90 there...so let's bring it back to SGD and its cheaper than cornetto for goodness sake yums

and that sums up my 2 days.
Super love these moments w the family just away from reality and all.
Love the journey, and the fact that I'm out of Singapore.
I don't mind even going city square cause when we were nearing the customs, I really wanted to go to KSL and City Square.. Sigh.
Can I....? There's noone to go w me.

BYEBYEBYEBYEBYE
XOXO
