Maison & Objet Asia

Went to work for this Maison & Objet Asia exhibition as a registration staff!
as usual, I expected it to be like slack after registering all the guests.
But for the first time the crowd for guests were totally crazy.

A day before the event we went for some training and they told us its a prestigious/big event in the design industry.
Okay, at first I thought it wouldn't matter but after that, I regretted.
Yes okay maybe the pay for enduring for these 4 days would be acceptable but the process just...
Normally the crowd would actually die down after the first day since all the guests got their badges.
But who knew that the second day was even crazier than the first, the third was worse than the second.
Luckily and surprisingly the fourth day was slightly better, or just that the previous days were the worst and they're like kinda the benchmark already.

I'm used to people scolding me when I'm working since I'm always doing something in the service line
but having said that, no one will actually feel good being yelled at or have people saying very not-nice-to-hear stuff in your face.
No matter how prepared you are, you're so going to be affected by it.
But of course, on the other hand there were many nice people who sincerely thanked us for our efforts to help. And that of course made my day :) there are nice people out there, still.

But thankfully, this event made me realize and understand why would people literally 没事找事做 to numb themselves from a breakup.
It keeps me away from thinking about everything that makes me feel so depressed.
Even if I do, that's like after work and I'm not going to get scolded for doing my work wrongly.

Most importantly, new and better friends made during the event!
Managed to meet back the people that worked with us for the previous event.. and apparently during the last event we did not really talk much but after this event we were closer for sure.
and new friends like Shahz and Ella were really......I'm just thankful (":
they were really nice people like they really take good care of us, and going through all those deep shit together.
Ella being funny when things get depressing, and shahz being sweet when we were all worn out from the customer experience shit thingy
Out of the whole event I guess the 4 of us were the most pathetic ones even the security doesn't get scoldings out of nowhere like we do.
People had to queue for free badges but yet they wanna complain that the system is too slow.
Oh well, you get the thing for free instead of paying $65, why do you still want to make lives so miserable
not as if we can do anything even if you make a fuss out of it ~~~~
I think we really can learn a lot from this experience....
how to ignore how we feel, and do what we ought to.
We can have the organizers drinking gong cha and walking past me when we were trying to handle the massive crowd with only 4 computers, and other places were pushing the visitors all over to our side.

And, we were made to put on this 'uniform' that really made us look like a joke
super duper over-sized / free sized cloth called a tunic, and leggings I had to spend another $30 of mine

and with the girls during the last day!

and that's it!

I can't wait for the date with le bff tomorrow ~~~~
