To celebrate the Merlion's 40th birthday
i think there's something going on with the STB and our school's visual comm year 1 students.
Then then then
so there's this #1 winning entry installation to either promote, or raise awareness for the merlion!
when the lights go on at night..
For the first time I did the event, it was a saturday.
and it was damn happening.
The pandas met the fish!
and I swear everyone was like crowding around the pandas..
nobody cared about merlion anymore :3
and all these candylicious clowns!
This green one made me and Lynn screamed in the streets of Orchard.
#throwface
and he's freakkkinggg tall in real...he's an angmoh HEEHEE!

jokers! Hiding inside for aircon HAHAHAH! |
the one on the ladder is Mr Lim Nang Seng, the person who sculpted Merlion.
then the one sitting in front is his youngest son!
but but but.
Mr LNS is NOT the one who came up with the Merlion.
HAHAHA it's some Mr Fraser.
but still, because of a tight deadline, mr lim nang seng got his whole family to help him.
5 daughters and 3 sons if i'm not wrong.
SO SWEET (':
and totally cam war-ed a lot for our last day for this event!
and there's this very very very nice teacher in charge of ours,
came down to take attendance.
But that wasn't the end.
She bought snacks for us!
Like the one above, the merlion and the macaroons!!!!
and while doing our work beside the installation,
we saw lots of different people taking photos.
Like there's one, he got his friend to take a photo of him sitting in front of the fountain there.
but he wasn't looking at the camera.
HAHAHA
so we decided to take something like this too.
By looking on the floor.
But it turned out to be ultimate retarded HAHAHAHAH!
AND a shirt promoting our course! ^^
met a lot of new friends from other classes!
We always see each other in the corridors but we don't really talk.
but once we come to this event, we are friends now AHAHAHAHAH!
amanda's friend! |
AMANDAAAA~~ |
At first we were like orhhhh okay.
but after we got them to write the wishes, we suddenly felt that they look very very cute!
especially Kenji.
HAHAHAH!
then we thick-skinned a bit and asked if we could take a photo with them.
But in the end when we asked, they were more than happy HAHAHAHAHAHA!
Japanese people are really very cute and polite uh~~ :D
and this lady from Hongkong!
At first when she approached me and asked if i could help her take a photo,
I thought she was a japanese.
She had that accent.
but because her S3 flashlight wasn't strong enough to take a clear photo,
I helped her take a few shots with her camera.
She was friendly enough, and I decided to use my own camera and take her photo!
and emailed her her photos HAHAHAHA.
from her email then I realised she's from hk.
She's studying in Melbourne...and she studied Hospitality too! ahahaha!
So she's our...senior?
She reminds me of miss oei..but the cute version HAHAHA!
the for the last few moments before we closed the booth,
these people from taiwan came in!
they're damn friendly!
Especially when we have someone like Chermaine there.
Totally taiwan crazy.
AHAHAHA!
then camwar-ed with them too!
after everyone left, it's our turn to camwar inside the air-conditioned booth! :D
yupppppp!
and that was all about the merlion!
It's really very fun although it's tiring.
and we don't get paid :3 sad enough.
but I don't mind doing it for everyday.
Love talking to those friendly tourists!!!
:D
